Your mission is quite simply to find and remove the rising number of Caarthans attacking the Covenant space in your local vicinity.  Recent tensions have brought the Galactic Covenenant and the Caarthan Stratocracy along with the Riikla Duumvirate into outright war.  Most Covenant ships were caught on the opposite side of known space when the war broke out and only your ship and a few sister ships are available for the current mission.  Patrol an area 64 quadrants in size with each quadrant reduced to 64 secotrs each and remove all hostile ships from this area.  Some other minor alliance races may be on hand to help, some will remain neutral, and some will be helping the enemy.

General Information
	Each Long Range (LR) quadrant will have indicators as to what is contained within it:

     # Caarthans present               Starbase present                            Quadrant Has gone NOVA.

        # Stars present               Planet(s) present                            Anything within has been destroyed.

	The two viewing modes can be switched by using the range control on the right side of the screen.
